Was established in June 2012, to accomplish the instructive goals of the Tatkare Charitable Trust. The foremost goal is to give quality education that will build up an incorporated character as communicated by the Trustees of Tatkare Charitable Trust. It started Diploma programs in Civil, Chemical, Computer, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. All Diploma programs conducted by the Polytechnic have equivalence of MSBTE and affiliated to AICTE. Today, the campus of SGDTP is humming with nearly 650+ students every year and over 80+ Teaching and Non - teaching faculty members.

The campus abounds with Polytechnic, ITI and other Graduation institutions preparing future engineers, professionals, technicians, educators, executives and so on. We achieve this sparkling advancement is only because of motivation and the direction of our Trustee Hon. Mr. Sandeepji Tatkare. The polytechnic has Classrooms, Smart Classrooms, well established laboratories, well equipped workshop, well stocked Library, Upto-date computer section, modern teaching aids and audio - visual equipments, seminar room, large play ground to impart knowledge and skills to its students, a throbbing career guidance cell personally monitored by the principal and registrar in the best possible manner. To enhance the overall personality of the students, Interdepartmental competitions are organized under the name of “VARCHASWA” in which various activities are organized to show students their skills and hidden talent in technical activities, sports, and annual functions.

Annual Prize Distribution, Student of the year- Boy and Student of the year- Girl award, enumerable other scholarships and incentives motivate our students further on the path of knowledge. In sports, the institute bagged Championship in Athletics, Wrestling, Cricket, and Kabaddi at the zonal and state level among all institutes affiliated to MSBTE. SGDTP encourages the emotional and spiritual growth of our students too, by arranging informative lectures and workshops pertaining to socio-cultural of the society. Under N.S.S. various social activities are organized such as Blood Donation camps, Tree Plantation, and Dan Uttasav to inculcate ethical and aesthetic values thus molding them to be multifaceted personality ready to shoulder responsibilities towards the family, society and the Nation. The Institute is focusing to organize various Industrial Visits and Seminar on Personality development, Industry expert lectures for students and faculties to be in touch with latest trends in market, Along with this Faculty Development programs are also organize for faculties to groom them and update them with current technology. Teachers of the institute are actively working by following pre planed calendar, semester planning as well as daily planning.

Alumni of college is serving inside and outside the country and imparting quality education. They are actual indicators of quality education that is imparted by the institute. The way of working of the management and the teachers are very innovative and appreciable, they do all the things for the welfare of the students and society. All the events and activities of students are published in every departmental Newsletter at the end of each semester. We create a safe and social environment that helps all our students learn and succeed. We nurture each student in order to ensure that their journey at SGDTP is successful and improves future prospects. Our students thus become versatile individuals with values of absolute faith, hope and love. In a world that rewards perseverance, resilience, leadership and communication skills, our students have well prepared for all the challenges of life. I am proud of the significant accomplishments of our students and the results our College has achieved in being a better choice in higher education.
