Department of Science & Humanities
Basic sciences are elementary to all engineering and technology studies. The humanities studies have an important role to play. They enable students to take this basic knowledge and apply it to real world problems such as designing a vehicle, developing new machinery etc.
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are the basic Subjects learnt by a student in school and Intermediate courses. Engineering students must have a basic understanding of these subjects. These subjects offered in their first year of Diploma engineering and it is common for all the branches of engineering. These subjects form a bridge between basic sciences and engineering
The department of English strives to work hard on the academic along with a communicative approach in our curriculum where the communication skills are the course ingredient of the student's career. The department also stresses on soft skills along with the overall development of each individual for better employability skills that boosts up the confidence level of the students.

Greetings! On behalf of the faculty members, staff, and students of the department of Sciences and Humanities of Smt Geeta D Tatkare Polytechnic Gove Kolad. Edward Teller quotes "The science of today is the technology of tomorrow". Yes, it is true, and the department of sciences and humanities is here for you to introduce basics of technology and strengthen you with the foundation of sciences. The faculty members are actively involved to impart quality education for the students. The department has a rich curriculum prescribed by the MSBTE. All teaching activities which are planned for students are allied with the curriculum. The department also executes some extra co-curricular activities like personality development, donation camp for orphanage, etc. programs to make students technically well -off, responsible citizens, independent leader, and above all a good human being.
Courses offered by the department are English, Basic Physics, Basic Chemistry, Mathematics, ICT, Engineering Drawing, workshop practice for the semester one, and for next semester Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Mathematics, Applied Mechanics, BCC and so on…
